Leadership
Based on their organizational chart, we see a problem with their structure. We identified the majority of its senior level leaders reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. This makes it harder to manage as a leader and you lose focus with too many direct-reports.
Diversity
There are some pitfalls that organizations like Google need to be aware of. These include alienating staff that do not identify themselves as a minority. Some may feel that they are being ignored by management since they are not given some of the same attention as minorities through ERGs.
Another issue that may arise is the cost involved in supporting these programs. By having a large number of ERGs, it may not be efficient.
